Workshop agenda
| Time (GMT) | Session | What you will practise |
|---|---|---|
| 09:30–10:00 | Choose the moment worth coaching | Identify a recurring discovery, demo or follow-up difficulty. Compare scenarios to distinguish a skills gap from missing information, an unclear process or a decision outside the seller’s authority. Your output: A defined coaching priority and a reason for the chosen support. |
| 10:00–10:45 | Turn observation into usable feedback | Observe a fictional buyer conversation and record phrases, actions and buyer responses. Separate evidence from interpretation and turn a broad judgement into recognisable feedback. Practise inviting the seller’s own reflection. Your output: A concise observation note and an opening feedback question. |
| 10:45–11:30 | Practise the coaching conversation | Take turns as coach, seller and observer in short rotations. Each participant coaches a selected sales moment, checks the seller’s thinking and agrees a manageable adjustment. Receive feedback on questions, listening and clarity of the next attempt. Your output: An observed coaching attempt and 1 specific refinement. |
| 11:30–12:30 | Lunch break | Optional 10-minute 1-to-1 video check-in with Paul to review feedback and focus your afternoon practice. |
| 12:30–13:15 | Respond when coaching becomes difficult | Work through seller responses such as defending a rushed demo or requesting a script for every objection. Practise acknowledging the concern, checking what support is needed and being direct about an expectation or product-information gap. Your output: A response that distinguishes development, information and direction. |
| 13:15–14:00 | Refine the coach and the next attempt | Each participant repeats the coaching moment selected earlier. Use the same observation criteria, then guide the seller through a brief replay of the buyer exchange. Compare what became clearer and identify what still needs practice. Your output: A refined coaching sequence and evidence from the repeat. |
| 14:00–14:30 | Build a workable coaching routine | Choose an upcoming team opportunity and define 2 actions, the observation source and a review date. Check how the coaching fits existing sales standards and who owns product or process questions that emerge. Your output: A short coaching plan with actions, ownership and review. |

Workshop questions
Must I bring a sales-call recording?
No. We use fictional role plays and written examples. You can practise a recurring coaching situation without sharing a customer recording.
Do I need a particular sales methodology?
No. Observation, feedback and useful questions can support your existing approach.
Will we cover formal performance procedures?
The focus is developmental coaching of sales conversations. Use your organisation’s agreed procedures and relevant support for formal performance matters.
