Workshop agenda

Workshop agenda. All times are UK time, GMT.
Time (GMT)SessionWhat you will practise
09:30–10:00Give the session a useful destinationChoose an enablement meeting and name the output it needs. Distinguish facilitating exploration from contributing expertise or making the decision. Identify the sales, product or manager perspective needed and state the decision boundary openly.
Your output: A purpose, a concrete output and a named decision owner.
10:00–10:45Design contributions that serve the taskTurn a vague playbook-review agenda into a short participation sequence. Practise clear questions, individual thinking time and structured comparison. Check that each contribution helps the group examine a buyer situation, readiness requirement or handoff problem.
Your output: A brief agenda and instructions for a contribution task.
10:45–11:30Facilitate an enablement discussionEach participant leads a short rotation while peers represent different roles. Practise inviting evidence and summarising competing views. Receive feedback on purpose, participation and questions, with an intervention to refine.
Your output: An observed facilitation attempt and a priority for refinement.
11:30–12:30Lunch breakOptional 10-minute 1-to-1 video check-in with Paul to review feedback and focus your afternoon practice.
12:30–13:15Work with disagreement and uneven participationExplore a sales leader’s urgent request, a product colleague’s qualification and a quieter seller’s experience. Practise summaries, invitations and boundaries that help the group compare evidence and identify what needs checking.
Your output: Intervention language for disagreement, drift and participation imbalance.
13:15–14:00Repeat the intervention and close the discussionEach participant retries a selected facilitation moment using the feedback. Practise moving from contributions to a workable output, then read back decisions and actions. Check what is agreed, what remains a proposal and who will resolve an evidence gap.
Your output: A revised facilitation move and a checked action record.
14:00–14:30Prepare your next enablement meetingAdapt the structure to a real, non-confidential meeting. Set 2 facilitation actions and decide how to review participation and output quality. Confirm where decision authority or product validation must sit outside the discussion.
Your output: A reusable meeting plan with actions and review criteria.

Preparation and follow-up

  1. Before the workshop

Complete a short questionnaire and outline 1 enablement meeting: purpose, roles, desired output and recurring difficulty. Draft an opening and a discussion question.

  2. After the workshop

Submit a revised meeting outline, opening and contribution task. Set 2 actions to use in your next meeting.

Your personal report reviews purpose and task design in the written plan, alongside participation, interventions and closure observed during practice. It records 2 actions and prompts for reflecting on your next meeting.

Bring: an enablement meeting example with role labels and no confidential strategy or product-roadmap details. A fictional brief is available.

Workshop questions

Is this a workshop-design course?

The focus is facilitating participation and useful group outputs. Train-the-Trainer covers explaining a skill, briefing learner practice and debriefing the activity.

Can I bring a cross-functional meeting?

Yes. An approved, anonymised sales–product discussion or manager-alignment meeting is suitable. Fictional role briefs support practice where confidentiality limits sharing.

Do I need authority over the participants?

No. You will practise making the purpose, contribution task and decision owner clear while working with different responsibilities and perspectives.
